MY FIRST YEAR AS A FULL-TIME MUSICIAN
After over 10 years writing songs and touring the US, in early 2015 Seattle-based Kris Orlowski transitioned to a full-time career as a songwriter and touring musician. Join us on Wednesday, March 30th for the Film + Music + Interactive Happy Hour as Kris shares personal insights into how he made the leap to become a full-time musician – from how he structures his work days, finds and maintains creative inspiration, and ultimately manages to strike that balance between the business and artistic sides of the music industry.
Kris will talk about his personal journey as a musician – the benefits of working his “9 to 5” job while he was starting out, developing his music career and building out his music team; how he currently sustains his career and finds balance; and how important collaboration is to create meaningful opportunities and lasting connections.
For Seattle musician Kris Orlowski, making music is about more than fulfilling personal agendas, it’s about creating something that touches the soul. His visceral, reflective lyrics, layered with more traditional rock and pop arrangements, weave together stories that resonate with audiences from coast to coast.
Kris has been busy since the release of his well-received debut album, “Believer” (2014), with multiple national tours (Jamestown Revival, Ivan & Alyosha) and features on primetime television (Grey’s Anatomy, Tomorrow People, Hart of Dixie). Kris and his band are currently in Seattle recording their much anticipated sophomore album.
Join us Wednesday, March 30th from 5 to 7:00 p.m. at Spitfire in Belltown at 2219 4th Ave Seattle, WA 98121.
